Information Services
Our department provides a variety of technology resources, services, and assistance to improve instruction and student achievement in area schools. These include networking services, technical support and repair, web design, data collection, internal applications and databases, technology implementation, distance learning, technology training, purchasing and support services.
The ConnectED Regional Wide Area Network (RWAN) is one of the cornerstones of our department. The RWAN is a consortium of 30 school entities and schools in the IU1 region using our group purchasing power to lower the cost of Internet access, transport, streaming video, firewall, filtering, web security, wireless security, and application security services for our members.
Membership in ConnectED also provides access to PAIUnet, a statewide, high-speed educational network that enables educators and students throughout Pennsylvania to create, communicate, and collaborate, and share valuable resources to enhance student learning.
